About Grit mat clUb

Goals

  • Use the sport of wrestling to teach club members important life lessons that will have a positive impact on their future.

  • Build a community where wrestlers from different schools can train and help each other reach their potential.

  • Create a training environment where wrestlers can win on the state, national, and world level.

Core Values

  • Growth Mindset – Our club and coaches believe that each wrestler’s ultimate potential will largely be determined by focused dedication and hard work. Their current talent level is a mere starting point, and not nearly as important.

  • Each person matters to us – We will make a continuous effort to get to know each wrestler and make them feel welcome.

  • Positive atmosphere – Coaches, wrestlers, and parents should adopt a positive attitude. We will try to avoid criticism, singling out, or any other types of negative behavior.

  • Support school programs – Our club is meant to be a supplement to wrestlers’ current school practice schedule, and not a replacement.
